How to use PrivacyPal
- Navigate to the webpage that contains the Privacy Policy or Terms you want to analyze.
- Click the PrivacyPal Chrome extension icon in your browser toolbar.
- Press Review and wait a moment while it reads and summarizes the page.
Note: PrivacyPal works on public webpages with a valid URL. It won’t analyze content inside native apps or private views without URLs.
Get an OpenAI API key
You’ll need an OpenAI API key to run local summaries with PrivacyPal.
- Sign in to your OpenAI account and open the API dashboard.
- Create a new API key and copy it somewhere safe.
- Ensure you have billing enabled so requests can run.
Add your API key to PrivacyPal
- Open the PrivacyPal extension.
- Paste your API key into the API Key field.
- Click Save. Your key is stored locally in your browser.
- If you switch devices or reinstall the extension, you’ll need to re-enter your key.
Install the Chrome extension
- Open your Chromium-based browser (Chrome, Edge, Opera).
- Visit the Chrome Web Store and search for PrivacyPal.
- Click Add to Chrome → Add Extension.
- Pin the extension in your toolbar for quick access.
